DM UPHOLSTERY & CUSHIONS
cLEANING GUIDE
When cleaning a cushion constructed of exterior-use foam, we recommend flushing it with water and allowing it to air dry without removing the cover.
Repeated removal of the cover may eventually break down the seams and distort the fabric. Professional dry cleaning is always recommended for tough stains.
FABRICS
White Boucle (Dara Maison Performance Fabric)
Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight.
Please note repeated washing of the performance fabrics may reduce the effectiveness of the stain-resistant finish.
Cream Shearling (Dara Maison Performance Fabric)
Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight.
Velvet
If velvet is not regularly maintained, high use areas such as seats, arms may show signs of pile tangling and matting over a period of time. This is a typical property of velvet and may occur naturally over time. If this should happen you can remove this by applying a damp (not wet) cloth overnight, which will restore the natural fibre of the material.
Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight.
Vegan Leather
On a daily basis the leather can be kept clean by wiping off the surface with a soft, dry cloth.
Preserve your leathers by wiping them down weekly, with a soft non-abrasive cloth or even tissues. To remove dirt and stains from vegan leather, simply wipe over the fabric with a cloth lightly soaked in warm soapy water.
Prevent excessive pulling of the leathers, it is relatively fragile and can tear when pulled hard.
Avoid placing the furniture in direct sunlight for extended periods of time, as the leather is sensitive to sunlight.
DM STONE
General guidelines
All stones have natural pores, and if the stones are contaminated by oils or beauty products, fruit juices, wine, tea, coffee, sauces or candle wax these can easily form stains if they are left for any period of time.
Travertine
Stains should be cleaned with a lukewarm water and a small amount of non-acidic cleaner. Ensure that the stone is dried properly following cleaning.
MARBLE
SANBLASTED Crema Stone
Stains should be cleaned with a lukewarm water and a small amount of non-acidic cleaner. Ensure that the stone is dried properly following cleaning.
METAL
ANTIQUE BRASS
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Brass should only be cleaned with a brass cleansing product, following the recommended application. Wipe clean and dry with a dry, soft cloth.
Please note that water on the surface may make the brass oxidise faster.
To maintain the best colour of the antique brass and ensure longevity, we recommend to keep water off the brass completely wherever possible.
Polished Chrome
WOOD
RAW OAK
We suggest treating the tabletop and bottom with special oak wood oil as this provides extra care and protection against stains and marks.
To remove stains gently wipe down the tabletop with a soft, cloth and wood detergent in the direction of the wood’s grain patterns.
WALNUT & Smoked walnut
Never use harsh or chemical cleaning agents.
Do not use sharp or rough tools for cleaning as they can cause damage to the wood.
Black Timber
Do not use sharp or rough tools for cleaning as they can cause damage to the wood.
Avoid exposing furniture to excessive humidity, heat or direct sunlight.
BURL WOOD
Do this regularly to minimise dust accumulation. If a spillage occurs, clean immediately with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
